The Bellevue School of Nursing was established in 1873 under the direction of the Board of Managers, an organization separate from Bellevue Hospital. In 1942, the Bellevue School of Nursing merged with New York University to become the Bellevue School of Nursing, Division of Nursing of the College of Medicine of New York University.
